Fall 2009 Registration will open on June 17th (06/17/09)We would like to thank everyone who makes this effort for the children of Hollis and Brookline possible. Without the combined efforts of many parents and volunteers we would not be able to bring such an exciting program to our community. To those who have volunteered so selflessly we THANK YOU! This Spring season has been a great success as we navigated the weather and the challenges we faced. Sunday June 14th is the last day of the Spring season! Fall registration will be available soon, so check back on June 17th and get ready to kick into the next exciting season!! Please note that all games for the fall are in Brookline at either Captain Samuel Douglas Middle School or at the Brookline Ball Park. Registration will be available soon online at https://www.sportsmanager.us/BYSL.htm (click the purple Register link on the left). If you're registering a child for the U6 league for the first time, you must mail us a copy of your child's birth certificate. We cannot place a child in U6 without one. Mail the copy to BHYSL, PO Box 658, Brookline NH 03033. The Fall scheduled game days are: 9/12, 9/19, 9/26, 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, 11/14 Want to be a referee?There are two upcoming classes for both current and potential referees:

Note to all coaches about scheduling practicesCoaches should contact Dave Partridge to schedule all practices: Dave Partridge Players & parents of players should contact the coaches (not Dave) to learn their practice schedules. Getting Ready on Game DaySoccer games are cancelled if the weather or field conditions are unsafe. Here are a few examples:
Equipment Checklist: Water bottle BHYSL policy regarding jewelryFIFA / US Soccer Federation LAW 4 - The Players Equipment. "A player must not use equipment or wear anything which is dangerous to himself or another player (including any kind of jewelry)". Medical Bracelets or Medallion are allowed but must be taped. Braces are allowed but a mouth guard is strongly suggested. Casts are allowed if properly padded, taped and are not used for competitive advantage." Thank you to our volunteersOur volunteers provide a valuable community service by enriching the lives of the youth soccer players in Brookline and Hollis. Many of our coaches have spent their weekends attending coaching and referee clinics so they can be better coaches for all of our children. Don't forget to say "Thank You" to your child's coach. |
BHYSL InformationBritish Challenger Soccer CampThe British Challenger Soccer Camp is now accepting registrations for the summer session at Brookline Ball Park, dates to be determined. Kidsafe for coachesAll coaches, assistant coaches, and referees must submit a Kidsafe disclosure statement to the NH Soccer Association. Washing BHYSL JerseysSoak overnight in cold salt water (about 1/4 cup salt per 1/2 gallon) to set the color. Then wash in cold water. The directions on the shirt say to wash in warm, but this can cause the colors to run. Referee TrainingIf you're interested in learning how to be a soccer referee, or you've already been trained and would like to recertify, please checkout the NH Soccer Assocation's referee website at www.nhreferee.net. Other Opportunities to PlayAmherst Soccer Club has a program for 3 - 6 year old players.
